Welcome Deputy LaMonica, School Resource Officer

We would like to welcome Deputy Christine LaMonica of the Caroline County Sheriff’s Department to RES as our new School Resource Officer.  Deputy LaMonica is replacing Deputy Beck on a daily basis. Deputy Beck has moved on to a new assignment and we wish him well. Please be sure to introduce yourself to Deputy LaMonica as you visit the school and welcome her to the RES family.

Chorus Information

For 4th and 5th grade students interested in participating in Spring Chorus, please have permission slips returned to Ms. Weer by January 31st.  Even if your student performed in the winter concert, students will still need to return a slip in order to confirm the new rehearsal schedule has been received.

Pennies for Patients

RES will be supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society again this year through Pennies for Patients! All collections will be done online. The event will run between January 13th and January 31st and our goal is to collect $2,020 this year!

Keep an eye out for information coming home on January 13th with your child’s classroom information. Donations can also be made on our school page beginning January 13th:  https://events.lls.org/pages/md/RidgelyElementarySchool-2020

Caroline County BackPack Program

Ridgely Elementary School continues to participate in the program called “Caroline Helping Hands (CHH)” offered through the Maryland Food Bank-Eastern Shore.  If you choose to enroll your child, he/she will receive a bag/box of food items to help supplement weekend meals. The delivery day of the “BackPack” is typically Friday, but may vary and are dependent on availability.  This program is absolutely FREE, there is no cost to you or your family.

If you wish to enroll, please call the school and request an application.  If you have any questions, call Anna Buffenmyer or Faith Christ at 410-479-3243.
